Online Text of the Qur'an

Many translations of the Qur'an have been made over the years by both Muslim and non-Muslim scholars. The translation chosen for this library was done by Mohammed Marmaduke Pickthall (1875-1936) in 1930. It was chosen for its availability and reputation as a quality translation.

This online translation is intended primarily to introduce non-Muslims to the contents of the Qur'an. Other translations may be more accurate or better suited to religious uses. Consult an Islamic authority on the merits of various translations. See the Qur'an article for information on the Qur'an, including the significance of translating the Qur'an from Arabic. Part of this library is under construction.
