Tibetan Prayer Wheel Shop

A Tibetan prayer wheel is a hollow metal cylinder, beautifully embossed, mounted on a rod handle and containing a tightly wound scroll printed with a mantra. Tibetan Buddhists believe that spinning a prayer wheel is just as effective as reciting mantras out loud. The mantra (prayer) most commonly used for Tibetan prayer wheels is Om Mani Padme Hum, which is printed in an ancient Indian script or in Tibetan script, usually on the outside as well as on the scroll inside. (See the Prayer Wheels article for more information on prayer wheels and Om Mani Padme Hum.)
